Trying to replace secular music ?
Not gonna lie, replacing worldly music is one of my struggles but in creating this playlist and listening to more of the music that I like, but in a positive light has helped me so much. I gravitate to this playlist more than my others. And slowly but surely secular music will be replaced very soon 🤞🏾🤞🏾🤞🏾. Here are some of my favorites at the moment #secularmusic #christianmusicplaylist #christianbops #christianpop #musicispowerful #christianrnbplaylist #christianrapsongs #christianrap #songsthatpraisegod #christianhiphop
It's true, making the switch from secular to Christian music can feel like a huge challenge, almost like you're giving up a part of your daily routine. I totally get it! For a long time, I found myself wrestling with what I was listening to. I loved the beats and melodies of my old songs, but sometimes the messages just didn't align with where I wanted to be spiritually. It felt like I was looking for a 'cool theme' for my life, something that uplifted me, but I wasn't sure if Christian music could truly deliver that same vibe. But I discovered something amazing: Christian music has evolved so much! It's not just hymns anymore. There’s a whole world of incredible artists creating tunes across every genre you can imagine – from catchy pop to soulful R&B, and even powerful hip-hop and rap. It’s about finding music that feeds your soul without sacrificing the sound you love. For me, the journey started by consciously seeking out artists who were making music that sounded modern and fresh, but with lyrics that spoke to my spirit. I was surprised by how many 'bops' I found! Songs like 'Rain' and 'Pray' by Melodicb, for instance, have such a smooth, contemporary feel. And if you're into hip-hop, 'WALK' by Hulvey & Lecrae or even some of the tracks from Jay Manwell & Caleb Gordon, like 'Old Ways,' are just *fire*. They bring that energy and rhythm but with incredibly inspiring messages. I’ve also found so much joy in discovering artists like Forrest Frank, whose song 'GOOD DAY GOOD DAY' is an instant mood booster. And for something truly unique, Chuckey Ellis's 'Not Like Us (Gospel Version)' shows how you can take a popular sound and infuse it with powerful gospel truth. Even newer artists like Childlike CiCi, Scootie Wop & Me with 'Love Never Fails' are creating tracks that resonate deeply while still being incredibly listenable. Building my go-to Christian playlist wasn't an overnight thing. Here’s what helped me: Don't try to replace everything at once: Start by adding just a few Christian songs to your existing playlists. Let them naturally blend in. Explore different sub-genres: If you love R&B, search for 'Christian R&B.' If rap is your thing, 'Christian hip-hop' or 'Christian rap' will open up a new world. Don't limit yourself to just one type! Follow artists and curated playlists: Once you find an artist you like, check out their collaborations or who they follow. Streaming services often have excellent curated Christian playlists for different moods. Pay attention to the lyrics: Beyond the beat, the words are what truly make Christian music impactful. Let them sink in and transform your outlook. Be patient with yourself: It's a journey, not a race. There might be days you slip back, and that's okay. The goal is progress, not perfection. Since making this shift, I've noticed a significant change in my daily life. My thoughts feel clearer, my mood is more positive, and I feel a stronger connection to my faith. It’s like my entire internal 'theme music' has changed for the better. If you're on a similar path, or even just curious, I highly recommend diving into modern Christian music. You might just find your new favorite 'cool theme' for life!
