We ordered the pistachio cream maritozzo and a vegetable sandwich, and both were much better than we expected.

The maritozzo was filled with a generous amount of light, fluffy cream. Despite how rich it looked, the cream did not feel overly heavy.
The soft bun, airy cream and intense pistachio filling worked extremely well together. This was easily one of the most memorable pastries we had in Rome.
🥙Vegetable Sandwich
The vegetables actually had flavour and did not taste watery or bland. They seemed to have been seasoned or prepared more carefully, which made a simple sandwich surprisingly satisfying.
We also enjoyed the casual, lively café atmosphere. We managed to get a seat when we arrived, but shortly after sitting down, more and more people began queueing outside—see photo 3!
It is a great place to stop for a relaxed Rome breakfast before continuing your day of sightseeing.

As a coffee enthusiast, the mention of rich, warming coffee in the OCR text resonates well; Trecaffè also serves excellent espresso, which complements their pastries beautifully. Overall, visiting Trecaffè became more than just a meal—it was a memorable part of my Roman mornings, blending great food, welcoming ambiance, and a true sense of local café culture. If you’re exploring Rome and looking for a breakfast spot that offers authentic flavor and casual charm, I would happily recommend returning to Trecaffè again and again.
