Summer Curly Hair Favorites ☀️

Over my years of experimenting, I’ve found a few products that stand out for providing lasting hold without making curls crunchy or weighed down. A key step is using a heat protectant with an anti-humidity shield before styling. Products like TIGI® Some Curls Like It Hot Heat Protection Spray help seal the hair cuticle and create a barrier against moisture, preventing that dreaded frizz. It’s important to spray evenly to cover all strands for maximum protection. Next, a high-hold gel such as Bed Head by TIGI or Marc Anthony True Professional gels offers excellent curl definition while controlling frizz throughout the day. What I love most is their ability to provide a lasting hold without stiffness or flaking, so curls stay bouncy and touchable. An often overlooked step is finishing with a bonding or nourishing oil. Using a lightweight oil designed for curly hair keeps the cuticles smooth and adds shine while locking out excess humidity. Olaplex Bonding Oil is one of my favorites because it not only controls frizz but also strengthens the hair, preventing breakage caused by heat styling. Incorporating this combination into my routine transformed how my curls respond to humid summer weather. It’s all about layering the right products to build a protective shield and seal moisture in. For anyone struggling with maintaining their naturally curly hair in warm, sticky climates, I highly recommend trying these types of products to achieve soft, defined, and frizz-free curls. Remember, each curly hair type is unique, so feel free to experiment with product amounts and combinations to find what works best for your texture and curl pattern. Consistency in your curly hair routine significantly improves hair health and curl appearance over time.
