Let’s normalize cutting toxic parents off‼️‼️‼️

We don’t talk enough about parents not wanting to be parents, envious and jealous towards their own flesh and blood. My mother don’t want a relationship with her grand kids unless I “PAY” for her time. Ts breaks my heart. She never has apologized to me for ruining my childhood. It’s always about money she can’t even go out to eat with me without me paying to come when I’m already paying for the food it’s self. It’s 2026 I’m no longer forcing relationships or putting up with nonsense when it comes to my kids. I’m not gone beg a mother to be a MOTHAAA😒‼️I’ll never understand why God blessed some ppl to be parents. They say in the bible it says “honor your mother and father” she hurts me so much and I still try and she acts like this I’m not honoring this behavior I have asked God to mend my broken heart and pls take away any hate I have towards her. I don’t wanna live hating her but this what I get in return.

... Read moreDealing with toxic parents is one of the most challenging experiences anyone can face, especially when it impacts your own children. From my personal experience and what I have witnessed in others’ stories, it’s crucial to recognize that sometimes the healthiest choice is to sever ties or set firm boundaries with parents who bring toxicity into your life. Many parents struggle with jealousy or resentment towards their own children or grandchildren, which can manifest as emotional manipulation or financial demands like the ones shared here. Unfortunately, such behaviors not only damage relationships but can also have long-lasting effects on your mental health and your children's upbringing. Choosing to cut off or limit contact is not about being ungrateful or disrespectful but about protecting your emotional well-being and fostering a positive environment for your kids. It’s important to remember that the biblical teaching to "honor your mother and father" does not mean tolerating abuse or neglect—it means respecting yourself while setting healthy boundaries. I found that seeking support from friends, counseling, or support groups helped me heal from the pain and guilt associated with distancing myself from toxic family members. Prayer and spiritual reflection can also be a source of comfort when trying to forgive and let go of resentment. Ultimately, prioritizing your children’s happiness and emotional safety is paramount. If a parent refuses to engage in a healthy, respectful relationship and instead harms your family dynamic, it’s okay to normalize cutting them off. Protecting your family doesn’t mean you hate them—it means you love yourself and your children enough to say no to toxicity and yes to peace and healing.

I’m so sorry you experienced this 🫂 the best thing you can do is forgive her and move on . Not for her but for YOU. Forgive her for all things she did and didn’t do. She is showing you in real time the person she is, the type of MOTHER she is. And as unfortunate as it is, the chances of her changing anytime soon are slim. But kudos to you for TRYING. Kudos to you for still showing up DESPITE. Kudos to you for setting BOUNDARIES. Kudos to you for putting YOU and YOUR family first. I pray nothing but healing, blessings, and peace over you and your family 🫂🫶🏽
