... Read moreOkay, so you've seen my #DraftsReveal, and let me tell you, it's a real mix of 'aha!' moments and 'oops, forgot about that!' posts. But seriously, who else has a graveyard of amazing ideas just waiting in their Lemon8 drafts? It's not just me, right? I've been thinking a lot about why these drafts pile up, and I wanted to share some of my own strategies for tackling them, or even just embracing them!
For me, some posts, like that dreamy Disney castle photo I mentioned, are still sitting there because I'm genuinely 'still researching.' I want to give you guys the best tips for planning a Disney trip, not just a pretty picture! So, my first tip for fellow creators is: if you're researching, dedicate a specific time to it. Don't let it linger forever, or it'll never get posted. Maybe set a 'research day' once a month. Or, if it's taking too long, consider posting what you do have and asking your community for their input – just like I was going to do for my Disney post!
Then there's the 'too lazy to write caption' dilemma. Oh, how many times have I been there! That Uber Eats Agent trying to scam me story? Totally happened, and it was wild, but the thought of crafting the perfect narrative just felt like too much work at the moment. My workaround? Sometimes, a short, punchy caption is better than no caption at all. Or, use voice-to-text! It's a game-changer when you just need to get your thoughts down quickly. You can always refine it later. Don't let perfection be the enemy of good enough when it comes to sharing your experiences.
And what about when you have 'too many market posts this month,' like my beautiful market stall finds? It's easy to get excited about a niche and then suddenly realize your feed is looking a bit… repetitive. My advice here is to batch your content. Instead of posting five market hauls one after another, schedule them out. Or, try to find a new angle. Could one market post be about sustainable shopping? Another about unique artisan crafts? Diversifying the story around similar content can make all the difference.
Finally, the dreaded 'forgot the store name' issue, like with my gorgeous crystal display. This one is simple but crucial: as soon as you find something amazing, immediately note down the details. A quick memo in your phone, a photo of the store sign, or even just jotting it down in the draft itself. Future you will thank you! It saves so much frustration and ensures those unique finds actually get shared.
Embracing the #DraftsReveal trend has actually been super cathartic. It's a reminder that everyone, even your favorite creators, has a pile of unposted content. It’s part of the creative process! Don't let your drafts become a source of guilt. Instead, use them as a treasure trove of future content ideas. Sometimes, just revisiting an old draft with fresh eyes can spark new inspiration. What's one draft you're going to tackle this week?
I have a lot of my future posts saved in my drafts. I probably have at least 40 in there but for sure 5 that are ready to be posted just waiting for the right times. Lots of stuff for spring coming soon.
I love this!!!! ❤️❤️
