your old pack n play isnt junk!

3 kids later and i have a ton of these things now so i figured to take my chances at this pack n play upcycling DIY i saw on pinterest. 💞

took me literally 10 mins to make this super cool nook for my kiddos to hang out in ~

1. cut out a side of the mesh✂️

2. cover top with twin size fitted sheet (i saw others use crib sheets but the twin works well for a full wrap around affect)

3. stuff with blankies and stuffies for a super fun super comfy hiding spot for your babies! 🧸

all of my boys are enjoying ages 2-6 and if your fitted sheet isnt TOO stretchy, the top can make for a super cool hammock (would only work with the twin sheet!)

i put a bookshelf near mine in hopes that they will utilize this as a little reading nook! 📚🥰

Many parents find themselves with multiple pack n plays after their kids outgrow them, and rather than discarding these sturdy pieces, upcycling offers a creative solution that extends their useful life. The cozy nook created by cutting out a side mesh panel and covering the top with a twin fitted sheet provides a versatile little hideaway for kids to relax, play, or enjoy quiet reading time. This idea echoes the popular 'hammock top' concept seen in various family DIY circles, which combines comfort with an element of play that children naturally love. When trying this upcycling project, it’s important to select a fitted sheet that is not too stretchy to ensure the hammock-like top holds securely and safely. Using blankets and stuffed animals inside not only softens the space but also offers tactile comfort, making the nook more inviting. By placing a bookshelf nearby, you cleverly encourage educational activities such as reading, further enriching the nook’s purpose. Additionally, upcycling promotes environmental responsibility by reducing waste and encouraging creative reuse of household items. Families tackling similar projects can also experiment with decorating the nook to match the child’s personality, adding string lights, cushions, or themed decor. This DIY upcycling hack aligns with popular parenting trends embracing sustainable practices and hands-on creativity. It also supports children’s independent play and cozy comfort, making old pack n plays a cherished part of your home rather than junk. Such ideas can inspire other parents and caregivers to rethink how they use old baby equipment, turning what was once considered junk into a treasured family feature.
