VOD (Jesus and the woman of Samaria)
John 4:16
"Jesus said to her, “Go, call your husband, and come here.”
Have you ever been contemplating a situation, then suddenly felt convicted? Like your entire body was just probed, and all of your thoughts go fleeting across your mind? You've found that real truth was shining down, highlighting your unjust words and questionable actions? All while making that weight you carry, that much heavier?
For believers, this is the Holy Spirit speaking to you, leading you towards making decisions that lead to righteousness or repentance.
For unbelievers, though, this could be a revelation! It's a knock at the door! Jesus is in the process of correcting your concept of God. He is inviting you to seek Him out.
He's telling you He can fix the broken places.
People who worship God in Spirit and truth are His: He wants His people to worship Him, commune with Him, and to belong to Him. He wants to love them and have that love reciprocated!
This promises to be an incredibly uplifting message for anyone who has been discounted by the world. Just as it was for this woman who was beaten up and thrown aside by the world.
John 4:18
"For you have had five husbands, and the one you now have is not your husband. What you have said is true."
The truth was revealed, so initially, she attempted to change the subject;
John 4:20
"Our fathers worshiped on this mountain, but you say that in Jerusalem is the place where people ought to worship.”
However, Jesus is the Light, so when revelation strikes, His people run towards, not away from the Light! So answer the door, seek that voice...
Deuteronomy 4:29
“But from there you will seek the Lord your God, and you will find him if you search after him with all your heart and with all your soul.”

John 4:26
Jesus said to her, “I who speak to you am he.”
