"My Sheep hear My voice"
Do you write in a journal? Do you record the progress that you're making and the events that are happening in your life on your walk with Jesus?
Numbers 33:2
"Moses wrote down their starting places, stage by stage, by command of the Lord, and these are their stages according to their starting places."
God knows that humans are prone to forgetfulness, especially when facing new challenges. By commanding Moses to record their journey, God was helping His people hold on to the truth of His faithfulness.
If you made a request from God yesterday and silence was all you seemed to receive in return, would you remember the following week what your request was?
Can you discern God's voice from all others?
John 10:27
"My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me."
If God were to ask you to do something against your nature, would you show obedience or fear and doubt?
John 16:13 ESV
[13] When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth, for he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears he will speak, and he will declare to you the things that are to come.
Here, Jesus refers to the Helper, the Holy Spirit, as the "Spirit of truth"
As believers, we have an ability that sets us apart from the people of this world. The Holy Spirit provides insight and influence that can't be expected of others.
The Spirit "will speak," "guide," and "declare" to us. That influence can be resisted or even ignored.
So, is the hesitation you're yielding to now preventing God from answering your prayers from last week?
"Something to consider?"
"Lord, give us the eyes to see, the ears to hear the heart to obey and the courage to follow through, in Jesus' name, Amen.
* Note: Even saved believers can be wrong about spiritual matters. Discipleship and the written word of God are crucial to develop deep understanding.
