Casually posted a 12.7km run like it was nothing… until a friend reminded me that it actually IS something (YOU RAN 12.7KM?!”).

And it made me realise how quickly we move the goalposts on ourselves. Something that once would've felt like a huge achievement becomes… just another Tuesday.

I remember the first time I finished running a full round around Bedok Reservoir (this was literally decades ago!). It seemed like such a milestone. And the distance? 4.8km.

Since then, I went on to finish half, and then full marathons (although I stopped seriously running the past 5 years because I developed plantar fasciitis on both feet)... so 4.8km now seems laughable.

And yet, with the husband finally getting on the running game (this guy was barely doing 3km with me back then lol), and with my constant travels leaving running as the easiest way to work out + explore a new country, I casually get in random runs here and there now.

Given the decades I've spent running, 10 and 12km are "normal" now - but I realised this was a milestone all those years ago.

And so instead of focusing on berating myself for being "lazy" on this recent trip (in truth, I was just really tired and my body needed the rest - we also are so hard on ourselves that we forget to be kind), I should have celebrated this random run on the last day as a mini win.

So here’s your reminder (and mine): give yourself credit for the seemingly mundane things you’ve achieved today. They might not actually be that mundane. 🤍

What’s one tiny win you’re giving yourself a pat on the back for today? 👇

Save this for a day you feel like you’re not doing enough, or send it to someone who needs the reminder (like my friend did for me). 🫶🏻

Friendly or flirty part I
Here’s the tea 🍵: For me, flirting comes as naturally as breathing. I have this tendency to give people nicknames to close the distance between us. At times it can come across as flirting, it is just my way of loosing them up to close that gap. Let’s call him 🌮 We were having our usual morni
