Baby bump things and school. 📗✏️🤰🏾

Ive been on such a journey that i truly don’t understand.. I went from having it all together to having nothing in the blink of an eye.

Credit card debt.. all the debts. Now I’m on the road to redemption, going back to school and trying to keep a positive attitude with one source of income (my bf).

Life can be so cruel but I’m going to keep pushing and pray for better days.

... Read moreIt’s incredible how life can throw curveballs, isn't it? Reading about Mileea's journey really resonated with me, especially the part about going back to school while pregnant and dealing with financial hurdles. It takes immense strength to keep pushing forward, and I truly believe that seeking out support is key during such a transformative time. When I was navigating my own path as a student parent, I realized how crucial it is to understand the resources available. For those of us attending universities, like a big institution such as the University of Texas, there are often dedicated student support services that can be a real lifeline. These departments can help with everything from academic advising – finding flexible course schedules or understanding leave policies – to connecting you with counseling services if you're struggling with the emotional weight of it all. Don't be afraid to reach out to your academic advisor or the student welfare office; they are there to help you succeed, baby bump and all! Financial assistance is another huge piece of the puzzle, especially when you're facing unexpected debt. Beyond traditional student loans, many universities and external organizations offer scholarships and grants specifically for student parents. It’s worth exploring options like childcare subsidies, emergency funds, or even government programs designed to support young families. Sometimes, just a little bit of financial relief can make a massive difference in reducing stress and allowing you to focus on your studies and your growing family. Beyond formal support, building a strong personal network is invaluable. Leaning on family, friends, and even connecting with other student parents can provide incredible emotional encouragement and practical help. There are often online communities or campus groups where you can share experiences, tips, and simply feel less alone. It’s so important to have cheerleaders in your corner as you prepare for a new chapter – especially with a little one due, like the baby expected in December 2024. Balancing textbooks with baby preparations can feel overwhelming, but remember to be kind to yourself. Prioritize self-care, even if it’s just a few minutes of quiet time. Developing strong time management skills and learning to ask for help are also game-changers. Whether it's asking a classmate for notes or delegating chores, every little bit helps. This journey is a marathon, not a sprint, and with the right support system, you absolutely can achieve your academic goals while embracing the joy of becoming a parent.
