It's important to challenge these stereotypes and remember that scams can target anyone, and perpetrators come from all backgrounds. Protecting victims means offering empathy, understanding, and resources rather than suspicion or blame. Victim support can include educating communities on how to recognize scams, promoting safe online practices, and encouraging victims to report fraud without fear of judgment. Social media hashtags like #dramatiktok, #blowthisup, and #blacktiktok highlight how people come together to share experiences and raise awareness. These communities provide a platform to fight misinformation and advocate for justice. Ultimately, the focus should be on holding scammers accountable and stopping harmful patterns rather than perpetuating victim blaming. By cultivating an environment of support and solidarity, we can better protect vulnerable individuals from deceit and empower them to seek help confidently.
