Jimmy John’s New Lemon Sunshine Cookie

📍Location: Jimmy John's

I bought the new Jimmy John’s Lemon Sunshine cookie

Sub just a Turkey Tom extra tomatoes and add mustard 10/10 one of my go to orders when I want Jimmy John’s. The cookie 7/10 it was definitely a strong lemon flavor. It tastes more artificial to me than a real lemon cookie. I didn’t care for the white chocolate chips. Our 7 month old said 0/10 she spit it out so quickly. My partner said it was really good and she’d get it again.

For 2 sub combos with the .50 upgrade for both of us to get cookies the total was $24. The combo included the sub, a regular drink (I upgraded to a large for .40) and one side. We will always be back for Jimmy John’s because it’s my partner’s favorite place.

... Read moreAfter trying the new Jimmy John's Lemon Sunshine Cookie, I know many of you are curious not just about the taste, but also what's actually in it. It's so easy to get swept up in the excitement of a new menu item, but as someone who loves to make informed choices, I always dig a little deeper. Let's talk nutrition, because that's often a big factor in deciding if a treat truly is an 'Eat or Pass.' According to the packaging I saw, one Lemon Sunshine Cookie packs a significant punch at 420 calories. When you consider that many people order this as an add-on to a sub combo, it's worth noting how it contributes to your overall meal. For instance, a Turkey Tom sub on its own is already a meal, so adding a cookie like this can really ramp up the calorie count. Diving into the ingredients, which were also visible on the label, you'll find classic components like enriched flour, sugar, and white confectionery chips. It's pretty standard for a packaged cookie, but it's good to be aware of. The presence of 'enriched flour' means it's processed wheat flour where some nutrients lost during processing are added back. And 'sugar' being high on the list isn't surprising for a sweet treat. The white confectionery chips contribute to the texture and sweetness, though personally, I found them a bit much with the strong lemon flavor. For those curious about specific ingredients or potential allergens, it’s always a good idea to check the official Jimmy John's nutrition chart on their website or ask in-store, as formulations can sometimes vary. Thinking about the 'strong lemon flavor' I mentioned in my initial review, it's interesting to consider how that's achieved. Often in packaged cookies, that zest comes from natural and/or artificial flavors, which can contribute to that slightly 'artificial' taste I picked up on. If you're someone who prefers a more natural, homemade lemon zest flavor, this might be a point of consideration for you. When it comes to desserts at Jimmy John's, the Lemon Sunshine Cookie joins a lineup that typically includes other classic cookies. While they're all delicious treats, understanding the calorie and ingredient breakdown helps in making choices that align with your dietary goals. If you're watching your intake, perhaps splitting a cookie with a friend or opting for a lighter side with your sub could be a good strategy. Ultimately, whether this Lemon Sunshine Cookie is an 'Eat or Pass' really comes down to your personal preferences and dietary needs. My partner loved it and would get it again, highlighting that taste is subjective! But armed with knowledge about the 420 calories and main ingredients like enriched flour, sugar, and white confectionery chips, you can make a more informed decision for yourself. It’s always about balance and enjoying your food thoughtfully!
