University of Southern California🌴

The second place I visited on my college trip was USC! The community was incredible. During the summer I wasn’t expecting much life, but the campus is open to the community. They are also dog friendly! USC has tons of businesses open as well, including a target, trader joe’s, and core power.#usc #part2 #lemon8diarychallenge University of Southern California

... Read moreAfter my amazing visit to USC, soaking in that incredible campus vibe, I couldn't help but think about all the ways students get involved beyond classes! The energy on campus, especially around spots like the Ronald Tutor Campus Center and the vibrant quads I saw, truly speaks to a thriving student life. It's clear that USC isn't just about academics; it's a place where you can really dive into countless extracurricular activities and make your college experience unforgettable. If you're wondering what kind of clubs and organizations you can join, USC offers an incredible spectrum. For those passionate about specific subjects, there are tons of academic and professional clubs. Imagine joining a film production society through the School of Cinematic Arts, or a pre-med club that offers shadowing opportunities. The Tutor Center, beyond just academic support, often has study groups and academic competition teams. These clubs are fantastic for networking, gaining practical skills, and even exploring career paths before you graduate. Sports and recreation are also huge here. Seeing the Allyson Felix Field scoreboard made me realize how much athletic spirit there is. Beyond varsity sports, USC has a massive intramural sports program – think everything from flag football to dodgeball. Plus, there are fitness clubs, dance groups, and even outdoor adventure clubs for exploring California's beautiful landscapes. Staying active and pursuing your hobbies is super easy. And let's not forget the arts and culture! With its strong creative programs, USC boasts numerous performing arts groups, cultural associations, and media organizations. You could join a student newspaper, a dance troupe, or a club celebrating different international cultures. The beautiful Alumni Center and other grand spaces often host events and performances, making them perfect venues for these groups. Community service and social justice initiatives are also deeply embedded in the USC experience. Many student organizations focus on giving back to the local community, tackling important social issues, or volunteering for various causes. This is a wonderful way to connect with others who share your values and make a real difference. Then there are student government, leadership programs, and, of course, the vibrant Greek life scene if that's something you're interested in. The key to finding your niche is to explore! USC holds activity fairs at the beginning of each semester where you can literally walk around and discover hundreds of clubs. Don't be afraid to try a few different things before settling on what truly resonates with you. Balancing your studies with extracurriculars is totally doable and incredibly rewarding. It's how you build friendships, develop new skills, and truly become part of the Trojan family. My visit showed me a campus full of life, and now I know that life extends far beyond the classroom walls into a world of endless opportunities for involvement and growth!
