Living in a world where daily expenses are steadily rising can feel overwhelming, especially when compounded by the unique challenges faced as a Black woman. The phrase "My therapy because the world is burning" perfectly reflects how many of us turn to mental health care as a vital resource for coping with external stressors. From increased costs in housing, groceries, and healthcare to navigating societal expectations, it's no surprise that maintaining mental and emotional well-being requires intentional effort. Therapy offers a safe space to process these pressures and develop strategies tailored to our lived experiences. I've found that openly discussing topics related to being a Black woman—whether on platforms like TikTok or in community conversations—helps create solidarity and shared understanding. It breaks down isolation and reminds us that our struggles, while deeply personal, are also part of a broader narrative. Incorporating self-care routines, whether it's journaling, meditation, or connecting with supportive friends, can make a significant difference. Recognizing that therapy is not just for moments of crisis but a proactive practice empowers us to thrive despite the 'world burning' around us. Ultimately, acknowledging the intersection of race, gender, and economic pressures invites deeper conversations and fosters resilience. Sharing these experiences publicly encourages others to seek support and sheds light on the nuanced realities Black women face every day.
