random mini rant: iphone notches 😭

Am I the only one who’s obsessed with iphone notches (Specifically the ones on the iPhone 12 mini, iPhone 13, 13 Pro and Pro max)?

They just make things look so nice and expensive??? And when people use light mode apps and things look so aesthetically pleasing and the contrast between the notch and the screen makes the screen shine in a particular type of expensive way and it looks kind of nostalgically old??

... Read moreThe design of smartphones, especially iPhones, has always sparked discussions about their aesthetics and functionality. iPhone notches are particularly significant due to their influence on user experience. Not only do they house important sensors and cameras, but their design has also become an iconic feature in Apple products. Many users appreciate how notches create a distinct look, setting iPhones apart from competitors. This visual signature can enhance the overall experience of using apps, particularly with a well-implemented light mode, where screen contrast highlights the beauty of both the screen and the notch. The juxtaposition of modern technology with classic design elements can evoke a sense of nostalgia for older devices, which often didn't have such display interruptions. As Apple continues to innovate, the community remains divided. Some users embrace the notch's aesthetic appeal, while others prefer a more uninterrupted display. Regardless, the conversation around iPhone notches is a testament to how design shapes our connection with technology.

I actually rly love my island. It’s so cool. When I play music there’s a tiny little album cover and the music lines move and match the color of the album cover. Such a cool detail. I also like when I use my Face ID on an app and it switches to that up there rather than my whole screen.
