Finding your “why” |Weight loss & Fitness Journey

Recently, I found a new doctor 👩🏽‍⚕️. We discussed my medical history and my weight came up. We agreed that I should work toward 160 lbs for multiple health reasons. Now, I haven’t been that weight since my freshman year

of college 🤣. I’m now 187 now, though I don’t look it

For some reason “ I want to be healthy” isn’t a strong enough reason for me to be consistent with the gym. I typically don’t go to the gym unless i have a friend with me and over the last few years thats been seldom.

Because “I need to loose weight” doesn’t register either lol… I would say its a level of self love I haven’t fully unlocked yet 🤷🏽‍♀️

How can I find a “why” that works for me that typically should for everyone else but me? 🤔

Because “I like to dance” because “I want to get back to performing again” because “ I love my dance community” All of these have a resonance with my soul and that encourages movement. 💃🏾

Dance requires me to have a strong memory, stamina & flexibility. These skills require consistency and discipline. The overall goal is to perform in front if an audience next year. This goal of mine comes from a genuine passion and I believe that is more than enough. The 27lbs weightloss part is just a nice bonus 😊
