Come thrift shopping w/ me! Hit or Miss?
I only go thrifting when I feel like looking. 🔍🕵️
If not, it’ll be over stimulating and I won’t grab anything good. I haven’t been to Platos Closet in YEARS! So, with a friend’s invite, off I went.
I’ve said this once and I’ll say it again. Thrifting used clothing is only useful when the price matches the quality and is a unique piece to add to your wardrobe. Yes, sustainable shopping is supportive to the good of the planet, but I’m also mindful of the propaganda of greenwashing.
Nonetheless, I think I found some good finds today.

Thrift shopping has become a popular way to find unique fashion pieces while also being eco-conscious. In recent years, stores like Plato's Closet have gained popularity among fashion enthusiasts. When thrifting, it's important to focus on quality pieces, especially when considering the rising trend of sustainable fashion. Look for items that not only fit well but also showcase your personal style. The thrill of the hunt—finding that perfect item at a fraction of the retail price—makes thrifting exciting! Additionally, shopping at thrift stores helps reduce waste and supports a more sustainable approach to fashion. Remember to keep an open mind and be patient during your search. Some items may require some creativity to style, but that's part of the fun! Also, be aware of the potential for greenwashing; not every sustainable claim is genuine. Always scrutinize items for quality and value. Happy thrifting, and may you find your next favorite piece!
