🍂Book Review🍂
If We Were Villains by M.L. Rio - 5⭐️
I will accept no criticism on this book. Absolutely none! My theme for this month is apparently going into books completely unaware of what I’m getting myself into. This time, it worked! This has been on my TBR for quite some time and I’ve heard my favorite booktuber (Katie is reading) speak so highly of it, that I decided to go ahead and give it a read in September! I knew it was in an academic setting and someone dies, but that’s it! So I thought September was the perfect month to read this, since it is the beginning of spooky season, but I wasn’t completely ready for horror! I loved this book so much. I was in a chokehold from the very first page and by the time I got to the last page, I was in a full blown panic because I didn’t want it to end! If you like dark academia, Shakespeare, mysteries, and tragedy, I highly recommend! I loved the writing. I felt like I was there, experiencing the whole book alongside Oliver. I love books where I can experience all of the emotions that the characters are experiencing, it takes an incredible author to be able to convey that across pages! I look forward to reading more by M.L. Rio!
Next up: I’ll be finishing the Dead Take the A-Train and Fellowship of the Ring on audiobook, and also picking up Masters of Death by Olivie Blake!
