2b bike license (3.01)

Hey everyone, so i didn’t manage to pass my 3.01 but after the lesson i have a better understanding of what i did wrong and am pretty pumped for the next round!

At the start of the plank and pylon sections it was bad like really bad 😂 i fell off the plank loads of times and had difficulty trying to slow down using the foot break, the pylon portion was equally as bad as i knocked over the cones numerous times and threw my clutch a lot too.

But from both attempts i actually had 1 or 2 decent attempts when doing the practice and actual rounds. For the plank, i had 1 attempt where i slowed down and managed to get 7.2 seconds which was a huge win for me after all those failed attempts 😮‍💨 1 of the pylon attempts i did, i managed 5.9 seconds but i threw my clutch which was a bummer and i fell off my bike and hit a cone at the end (bruised my leg in the process but alls good)

Overall i would say it was a pretty good experience and i have a better understanding of what i did wrong for each segment and am quite excited to come back and try again the next time round!

Thanks for reading! ill update you guys here after I complete my second round of 3.01!

... Read morePreparing for the 3.01 test on a Yamaha Class 2B bike, like the popular Yamaha XSR155 in Singapore, can be both challenging and rewarding. The test focuses on skills like controlling your bike on a plank and weaving through pylons—a true test of balance and clutch control. From my experience, it’s normal to struggle at first with slowing down smoothly using the foot brake, as well as managing clutch control especially during the pylon slalom. These exercises really push you to develop muscle memory and confidence. One tip I found helpful is to practice the plank section on a flat, quiet area multiple times until you can consistently stay on it for over 7 seconds without wobbling. Similarly, for the pylon slalom, taking it slow and focusing on precision beats speed initially. Remember, knocking over cones or stalling is common for beginners, but each attempt builds your skill. In Singapore, many learners use bikes like the Yamaha XSR 155 for Class 2B lessons due to their manageable size and power. If you’re also aspiring to earn your 2B bike license at BBDC, consider joining practice sessions to get accustomed to the exact test layout. Overall, staying positive and learning from each attempt, as I did when bruising my leg but pushing forward, is key. I’m planning to update with my progress after the next 3.01 test round, and encourage others to keep practicing—they’ll see improvement too!
