2b bike license (3.01 second attempt)

Hey everyone! Back again with another post class update!

I managed to pass 3.1 on my second attempt thanks to the really chill instructor for giving me some divine tips to solve the issues i had for plank and pylon 😮‍💨 im pretty sure luck was on my side during class as i kept seeing the number 4 for some reason: my tag number was 4, bike number 104, 4 students in the lesson and also my mcdonalds table number 😂

At the start of the lesson, the instructor was p chill and let me practice on my own whilst he instructed the other 3 students. My first few attempts were questionable but it worked in the end 😌

The tips that the instructor gave me for plank course were: keep eyes focused on the lorry and the wording on it, grip the fuel tank with ur thighs and keep the shoulders loose. To help slow down, tap on rear break and maintain throttle.

Funny part was during each plank attempt, i had to hold my breath as i was so anxious to fall off the plank 😭 but i made it still, best timing i had for plank was 9.6 seconds which was insaneee.

For the pylon course, the tips given to me were to not be afraid of picking up speed before changing into gear 2 and going in to the course, release throttle and let go of the clutch as the bike rolls forward, bank left and right while accelerating and finish the course. 🙏

Cant wait for the next class and hope to feel abit more confident in the next one!

... Read moreWhen I first started my 2B bike lessons at BBDC, I was nervous especially about the plank and pylon courses. The plank course especially felt intimidating because balancing on the narrow plank tests your bike control and composure. The instructor’s advice to focus on a steady object like the lorry's wording helped me maintain concentration, and gripping the fuel tank with my thighs improved stability. For slowing down, learning to gently tap the rear brake while maintaining throttle was crucial to avoid sudden jerks, which gave me more confidence. The tip to keep my shoulders loose helped reduce stiffness and allowed smoother bike handling. On the pylon course, I discovered that speed before entering the course isn’t something to fear. In fact, accelerating slightly and smoothly release the clutch as the bike rolls forward made it easier to navigate the pylons. I learned to shift into gear 2 confidently and bank left and right without hesitation, which really helped me finish the course cleanly. Throughout my lessons, luck and small coincidences like repeatedly seeing the number 4 gave me motivation! Sharing my progress and tips felt encouraging, and I can’t wait to build on this experience in my next class to feel even more confident on the bike. For anyone gearing up for their 2B license at BBDC, my advice is to trust your instructor’s tips, practice gradual throttle control, and try to stay relaxed even if you feel anxious. The journey is rewarding, and mastering these technical skills really adds to the thrill of riding. Good luck out there!
