2B Bike License 4.02 (First Attempt)

Hello again fellow 2B aspirants and holders 🫡

Yet again i’ve managed to pass another lesson and now i can finally say I’m at the halfway point of this journey thankfully 🙏

For this lesson it was an assessment of our previous lessons from lessons 2 to 4.01.

The content focuses on:

Minor to major, major to minor road turns and junction right turn

Slope

S course and crank course

Plank and pylon

And finally E-brake

We started immediately with no warm up rounds so after exiting the start point we made a left turn and changed lanes after making the right turn to start with slope first. Slope was rather easy as i still remember how to enter and exit the slope.

For those that don’t remember, max of 4 riders on the uphill part of the slope in 2 lines and if theres a fifth rider they wait at the number 7 sign for a spot at the uphill portion. When waiting at the slope, use rear brake to hold the bike, check back right before moving off. When moving off, throttle up more and release clutch to biting point and let go of rear brake. At the top of the hill, let the bike roll, lean back and let go of the clutch. At the bottom, clutch in and brake.

After the slope we made a left turn to the junction and changed to the right lane to make a right turn. Then we did a minor to major road right turn to go back to the slope area. Although on my second pass i totally panicked and missed the turn to the slope but luckily my instructor was chill and told me to turn left at the junction and follow the queue after.

After the slope assessment, we did the S course and Crank course. Although i did pretty subpar this round as i felt the bike was slightly weird and had no time to adjust but i did okay i guess.

For S course and crank course can refer to my prev 4.01 entry to see how i did it since im kinda lazy to type 😅😅. After those 2 we moved on to plank and pylon courses you can view my 3.01 for tips and tricks for that as well.

For my E-brake, i think i did just slightly better but still a few hick ups here and there like not signalling and not braking hard enough so ill definitely revise on that more!

Thats pretty much all for today’s practical and now I’m really at the halfway mark and i cant wait for this to end 🤧 will update you guys after the next practical 🙏

... Read moreIf you’re working towards your 2B bike license like me, getting familiar with the CDC 2B bike model, particularly the Yamaha 2B bike, really helps in practical assessments. These bikes are designed for easy handling during exercises such as slopes, S courses, and plank & pylon drills. Knowing how the Yamaha 2B responds to clutch, throttle, and brakes can boost your confidence and control, especially when doing sharper turns or hill ascents. On the slope section, it’s essential to understand queueing rules and bike handling: max 4 riders in two lines uphill, waiting patiently at the number 7 sign if you’re the fifth. Using the rear brake effectively to hold position while observing proper clutch and throttle control can prevent stalling or rolling back. When tackling the S and crank courses, keep steady throttle and clutch use to smoothly trace the curves. Practicing in advance on a similar CDC 2B bike will let you feel the bike’s quirks early and adjust your technique. From my experience, don’t underestimate the importance of signaling and firm braking for your E-brake test — it’s a practical skill that’s easy to overlook but critical for safety. Overall, getting hands-on time with the Yamaha 2B bike at Bukit Batok Driving Centre helped me understand its behaviour, and I recommend future riders spend time familiarizing themselves with it before the test days. It’s exciting being halfway through the 2B journey, and consistent practice with CDC’s 2B bike model is truly key to passing confidently.
