My Would-be Valentines

While today will primarily be about my actual current girlfriend, my mind this morning has me thinking about...

My most recent former girlfriend (who died alone)

My friend who would have been the perfect wife for me if I had even remotely been her type (who will also be alone)

The marvelous friend I would pursue right now were I not both involved and old enough to be her father (she will be alone)

The thing I hope you take from this is that you're loved by someone somewhere, even if you are alone. You may not get to be with someone you love. But you are loved. #letschat #lemon8challenge /Wilmington

Understanding the depth of our emotional connections leads to healing and growth. Relationships come in many forms – romantic, platonic, and even familial. Each offers unique lessons and memories that shape us. It's essential to appreciate the loved ones we have in our lives, both present and past. Reflecting on former partners or friends can be bittersweet, highlighting cherished moments while confronting feelings of loss or solitude. Remember, it's okay to embrace those reflections without it overshadowing your present joy. For those who may feel alone on this day, it's important to acknowledge that love exists beyond romantic connections. Often, we overlook the relationships that sustain us, whether through family bonds or friendships. Engaging with a community, joining discussions, or participating in social activities can also rekindle the sense of belonging and connection. Don't hesitate to reach out to friends and loved ones to express your feelings or simply share a moment. Even small gestures, such as a text or call, can foster a sense of love and connection. You are appreciated, valued, and most importantly, loved by someone out there, even when it feels otherwise. This Valentine’s Day, remember to honor all forms of love and the people who contribute to your life story.
