My honest review of THIS american eagle outfit

* THE TOP- the top in the photo was super adorable and had a really beach like look, it was incredibly stretchy so i feel it would be able to fit a wide variety of body types. On the other hand the shirt does make me look really wide others have said it didn't flatter them also so that is definitely a big con for me and some others. It also had a very small color variety with only beige and red.
*THE PANTS- the pants were super adorable and they fit super nicely on me and flattered the whole outfit, the pants in the photo worked with just about every single top i tried on. But if your looking to show off a new pair of shoes in these pants i wouldn't exactly go for these as they are pretty long and the pants were standard not tall. But they had an amazing color variety to choose from.

From what I can tell, they're likely a cotton blend, offering good breathability and comfort without sacrificing structure – something I always look for in 'womens bottoms.' My initial observation about them being 'long' and covering shoes is still true, but it’s an easy fix! For showing off sneakers or sandals, a simple roll-up of the cuff or a quick hem job makes all the difference. Or, if you want to elevate the look, pair them with platform sandals or boots. This not only solves the length issue but also taps into the current 'trend / aesthetic' of effortlessly cool, utilitarian chic. You can literally take them from a casual coffee run with a graphic tee to a more polished evening outfit by adding a silky cami and some delicate jewelry. When it comes to American Eagle as a whole, my biggest piece of 'styling advice' is to always consider how their pieces fit your unique 'body type and fit.' While they do offer a wide variety, understanding your measurements and trying things on is key. For example, while these cargo pants weren't specifically 'petite clothing,' many of their other items come in different lengths, which is a huge plus. Always check the 'texture, fabric & materials' tags; this gives you a good sense of how the garment will drape, wear, and last. I find their quality for everyday pieces generally excellent, holding up well to regular wear and washing. Don't be afraid to experiment with layering and accessorizing to make each piece your own. Whether you're aiming for a relaxed 'lifestyle aesthetic' or something a bit more put-together, AE often has the foundational pieces to build a truly versatile and comfortable wardrobe.
