How I submit my Pokemon cards to PSA! ✨

I’ve collected Pokemon cards since I was, like, only five years old and only at the beginning of this year did I decide to buy a pack for fun to start again. Well, whether that was a good or bad decision, I ended up from that one single pack pulling an Obsidian Flames Charizard ex SIR, and I decided that was the universe telling me that I made the right decision and to start going again!

I’ve since pulled lots of full arts, full art rares, and a ton of other exciting cards and despite what others might think, it’s left me feeling fulfilled and super happy that I can have a hobby like this as an adult! So, for the first time ever, I decided to submit some cards to PSA to see if I can heighten their value even further. I’d never done this before, so instead of risking messing it up, I decided to take them to GameStop.

I went to THREE WHOLE GAMESTOPS in my area before I found one that does grading. Being nervous about how this works, I submit just four cards for my first time, the ones on the last four slides. Every single of of these I pulled myself and I’m soooo excited to get to see the results. Let me know if you want to see what I got once they get back!

... Read moreSubmitting Pokémon cards to PSA for grading is an exciting step for collectors looking to authenticate and increase the value of their prized cards. PSA grading involves a meticulous evaluation of cards based on condition, centering, edges, surface, and more. For first-timers, the process can feel intimidating, but with some guidance, it becomes straightforward and rewarding. Many collectors, like the author, start by visiting local stores such as GameStop to find grading submission centers. Visiting multiple locations may be necessary to find a store offering PSA grading services. It’s wise to start with a few select cards, especially those with unique artwork or rarity, like full art rares or special editions such as Obsidian Flames Charizard ex SIR. These cards can gain significant value when PSA graded at higher tiers such as PSA 9 or PSA 10. Understanding the cards you submit helps prepare expectations. For example, cards like Zekrom ex, Starmie V, and Palafin ex are highly sought after, with pricing that varies greatly depending on card condition and PSA grade. Market prices can be checked on platforms like eBay and TCGPlayer to gauge potential value increases after grading. A helpful tip is to keep track of your submitted cards and their condition pre-submission by documenting any wear or imperfections. PSA grading can be a lengthy process, but once completed, these graded cards are encased in tamper-evident holders, providing protection and increasing collector confidence. Overall, submitting Pokémon cards to PSA elevates your collection by providing official certification of authenticity and condition. This process enhances a card’s resale value, makes trading easier, and adds a professional touch to your collection. Newly revived hobbies and childhood passions can flourish through the care and investment in card grading.

Submitting your first batch is such a good feeling 😭🔥 especially when you pulled them yourself too—that makes it 10x better. That Zekrom + Starmie are crazy picks for grading 👀 do you think any of them have a shot at a 10?
