I need friends in NY 🗽

Born & raised in NYC.

I am an introvert person, but very selective when it comes to making friends. 👯‍♀️

I’d love to have friends, but very few (if you know what I mean). The reason why I am very selective when it comes to making friends, it’s because I am very careful with whom I let in my life & circle.

There are so many fake friends out there 💯 & yes I’ve been there so many times!! It’s a long story!

So there are times when I have to end up being and staying to myself because I’ve already developed having trust issues. Being by yourself it’s a good thing: it gives peace ☮️ & tranquility until it come to a point when you get tired of being all alone and whenever you feel like you want to go out and have fun, you can’t do that all by yourself, because it’s kind of boring. To be able to have FUN & enjoy the moment, no matter where you are or go, you’ll need to do it with a friend or very few group of friends, specially here in NYC.

NYC it’s a really big city 🏙️ with the BIG APPLE 🍎 & with whole lots of activities & things to do!

So why NOT do it with friends?!

I NOT only mentions to have fun, but to have a SOCIAL LIFE as well.

Chat & text over the phone with a friend/friends is a good thing and I don’t even have that! NEVER HAD!!

Having a social life it’s very important, it’s healthy and it boost up your self esteem. It’s what I learnt.

So yeah, my whole life, I’ve been living my life without having “Friends” & I really want to be able to change that in 2026! I have a hard time having and making friends because of what I’ve been through. I’ve been taken advantage, past friends ended up being fakes, they used to be good to me and then out of nowhere and for no reason, they turned mean, etc..

I know that I am a very nice & kind person. Despite being nice & kind, I’ll also need to set boundaries.

I want to be respected & taken seriously, specially when making friends.

I want like 1-3 few “Friends”. I want to have “REAL”, “LOYAL”, “NICE”, “HUMBLE” & “FRIENDLY” friends. Also “God Lovers” friends. If you’re a Christian, way better for me! 🙏🏼🌸🥹✨

I can relate deeply to the experience of being selective with friendships due to past disappointments and the fear of fake relationships. It's tough to open up when you’ve been taken advantage of before, but creating a small, reliable circle can be incredibly rewarding. I've found that having even just a few friends who are loyal, kind, and respectful brings a sense of peace and joy that’s hard to find alone. These friends don’t have to be numerous—1 to 3 close connections are enough to share meaningful moments, explore the city, or exchange advice. Whether it's grabbing coffee, going shopping, or enjoying the many cultural events NYC offers, having that companion turns ordinary days into treasured memories. Another important aspect is sharing common values. For many, including myself, connecting with friends who share faith or spiritual beliefs can create a stronger bond. It gives a foundation of trust and mutual respect which helps in establishing lasting friendships. In today’s digital age, even texting or chatting over the phone can nurture these relationships until meeting in person becomes possible. It’s a gentle way to stay connected without feeling overwhelmed. Setting boundaries is essential to protect your emotional well-being. Being kind doesn’t mean tolerating disrespect. By clearly communicating your needs and limits, you cultivate friendships that are both loving and healthy. In summary, building trust and friendship in a large city requires patience, openness, and a willingness to be vulnerable while protecting your heart. The Big Apple offers countless opportunities to meet people, but the true gems are those few special friends who will cherish and respect you for who you are. Embracing this journey with hope and determination can lead to a fulfilling social life and boost your self-esteem along the way.
