POV: you hate dips… but you still show up 😭

i’ve been dragging myself to do dips every session because they’re literally my worst enemy 🫠 but today?? it actually felt smoother and stronger

progress doesn’t come from loving every exercise, it comes from doing it anyway

this is your sign to train even when you’re tired, your future self will thank you 💪✨

... Read moreI used to absolutely dread doing dips—like the author, they felt like my worst enemy every time I hit the gym. But over time, I realized the key wasn’t to love every exercise but to commit to doing them anyway. The shift happened when I stopped trying to avoid dips and instead focused on showing up consistently, even on days I felt tired or unmotivated. One thing that helped was breaking down the movement into manageable goals. I started with assisted dips and slowly increased difficulty as my strength grew. This approach made the exercise feel smoother and less intimidating. Tracking small improvements gave me a boost in confidence and motivation. Another strategy was mixing dips into a balanced upper body workout routine, pairing them with push-ups, pull-ups, and other compound exercises. This not only improved my overall strength but helped dips feel less like an isolated challenge. Remember, progress isn’t about perfection or loving every rep; it’s about showing up and putting in the work consistently. Even when an exercise feels like your enemy, pushing through builds resilience and long-term gains. If you’re struggling with dips, try to change your mindset and focus on the progress they bring rather than the discomfort. Lastly, listen to your body to avoid injury. Proper form is essential when performing dips to protect your shoulders and joints. Watching tutorial videos or consulting a trainer can make a big difference. So if you hate dips but still show up, you’re already winning. Keep going, and your future self will thank you for the strength and consistency you build along the way.

Who needs spin class when you have an energetic 8-year-old? Some days I’m tired. Some days my legs are burning. When you’re the only parent showing up, there are no days off — just showing up anyway. He won’t remember my tiredness. He’ll remember that I was there. It’s the same wi

"Doing dips at noon, under the scorching sun"
Avoid dipping too deep, as this can put excessive stress on your shoulder joints and ligaments. Stop at or just before the point where you feel a stretch or discomfort in your shoulders. #MyPOV Singapore #mindfulspending

The hardest work was learning to love myself
Two years ago, I closed the chapter on almost a decade of a toxic, abusive relationship. Walking away was the bravest thing I did, but it was also the start of my darkest storm. I was broken, lost, and surrounded by people who didn’t really care. Looking back, I can admit I wasn’t proud of who I wa

Married couple but no joint account?
The reason is simple - we wanted to maximise the amount of interest, cashbacks and rewards for our own accounts & credit cards 😂 We didn't exactly sit down and discuss this prior to marriage (though I would recommend you to do so), it just sort of worked out naturally over time. While

So I braved the queue at the new Sides in Bugis+ 🍔 The Burger It’s huge. Like, jaw-unhinging huge. But honestly? The taste was just… ok. Nothing mind-blowing. Also, it gets very, VERY messy, I felt like I needed a bib. Personally, I actually preferred the wrap, way easier to eat without redecor
