Over time, priorities often shift as the demands of parenthood take center stage. With kids requiring so much attention, social life can understandably become limited. From my own experience, I've found that my social interactions revolve more around my children and their activities—school events, playdates, and family outings. While the number of close friends might be fewer, those friendships tend to be deeper and more understanding of this challenging season in life. It’s become clear that quality matters far more than quantity. Moreover, I’ve learned that embracing this reality can actually bring a sense of peace. By focusing on my kids and creating meaningful bonds with a select few friends who truly get it, I’ve found more joy and less social pressure. It’s also a reminder that social circles can ebb and flow; as children grow older and become more independent, there might be more opportunities to reconnect with friends or make new ones. Ultimately, it's important to cut ourselves some slack, recognizing that parenthood naturally shifts social priorities. Whether your circle is small by choice or circumstance, finding happiness in those relationships—both familial and friendly—is what truly counts.
