CHOCOLATE TRUFFLE 🍫
Who else needs a little sweet treat during “those days”? 😅
I really needed something sweet that wouldn’t ruin my diet—I’m off sugar right now. So I decided to make this 100% cocoa, sugar-free chocolate truffle recipe, and guess what the base is? Cottage cheese! Yep, cottage cheese—and girl, it turns out so good!
Let’s get into the recipe:
• 300g cottage cheese
• 105g unsweetened cocoa powder
• 75g honey
How to make it:
1. In a food processor or blender, blend the cottage cheese until smooth.
2. Add the honey and blend again.
3. Transfer everything to a bowl and mix in the cocoa powder.
Roll into 20g balls and coat with powdered milk or more cocoa powder.
Pop them in the freezer for just 10 minutes to firm up—and that’s it! Delicious little truffles to kill those sweet cravings.
If you’re not into dark chocolate, you might not love this recipe—it definitely has that bitter vibe. But if you’re cutting out sugar, you’re probably going to love it!
According to my math, each 20g truffle has about 29 calories. But hey, if you’re a nutritionist, feel free to correct me 😂
⭐️Overall rating: 10/10

If you’re like me and want to enjoy chocolate without the sugar crash, these sugar-free truffles are an ideal choice. Using cottage cheese as the base not only keeps them creamy but also adds protein, making it a healthier alternative to traditional truffles made with heavy cream or butter. When I first tried making these, I was surprised at how smooth and rich the texture became after blending the cottage cheese with honey and cocoa powder. One tip I found helpful is to use unsweetened cocoa powder with a good quality brand for the best flavor. You can also experiment with rolling the truffles in different coatings like crushed nuts, shredded coconut, or even freeze-dried berries to add some interesting texture and flavor without adding sugar. These variations keep the truffles exciting and customizable to your preferences. For those counting calories, I did some rough calculations and found each 20g truffle to be around 29 calories, which is quite low compared to store-bought chocolate treats. This makes them a great snack option if you’re mindful about calorie intake but still want to satisfy chocolate cravings. Plus, freezing them for just 10 minutes firms them up perfectly — not too hard, but just enough to hold their shape when eating. If you’re worried about the bitterness of dark chocolate, you can adjust the honey quantity slightly, but be careful not to add too much sugar if you’re sticking to a sugar-free lifestyle. Alternatively, using a sugar-free sweetener could work as well. Overall, these truffles have become my go-to when I want a quick and easy healthy dessert or snack. I highly recommend giving this recipe a try if you want a tasty, guilt-free chocolate fix.
