HOW TO DROP AN EP

Personally I can’t give you the complete guideline how to do it, but I can tell you software and all the organization that goes into it. Am I perfect? No. Can I do I though? Anyone can.

1. First and foremost you need a distribution platform. (Obviously your DAW is a must too)

Personally, I use tunecore and have never had a problem with them. They’re easy to talk to and unless you’re a brand new artist who needs to be verified first, they’ll drop your song within the day. They also only charge an annual fee and it’s nothing crazy. And they WILL distribute it everywhere.

They also master. I know this sounds like a commercial, but I’ve been using it for over a year now. And have loved it.

2. Music videos are optional, but if you’re an artist you’re a creative and music videos are fun (sometimes stressful, but mostly fun) to make! I mean you’re bringing your mind to the table here. Every thought becomes a visual and it’s beautiful. It’s also more engagement so we need that.

3. Master your songs. I wish I did that. I wish I knew what that meant when I first started publishing. But you live and you learn. Mastering them will make or break a song.

4. PUSH IT OUT. AND DONT STOP TRYING. and i really gotta take my own advice here. Stay consistent and keep pushing it out. The right people will find it.
