Bojangles New Bo-Berry Waffle!

... Read moreOkay, so like many of you, I've seen the buzz about Bojangles' new Bo-Berry Waffle, and my curiosity was through the roof! I'm always on the lookout for new breakfast items, especially from fast-food spots, and Bojangles usually delivers on unique flavors. So, I finally gave in and decided to try it myself, and let me tell you, I have some thoughts to share. First off, if you're not familiar with the 'Bo-Berry' concept from Bojangles, imagine a sweet, blueberry-like flavor that's been a staple in their biscuits for ages. It's a signature taste that many of us Southerners, and even those outside the region, have grown to love. Bringing that iconic flavor to a waffle? Genius, right? My expectations were pretty high walking into this. When I got my order, the waffle itself looked pretty appealing. It had that classic golden-brown waffle appearance, dotted with those familiar purple-ish Bo-Berry bits. The aroma was sweet and inviting, a mix of freshly cooked waffle and that distinct berry scent. It wasn't overly drenched in syrup, which I appreciated, as it meant I could control the sweetness. My first bite was... interesting! The waffle itself was soft and fluffy, with a nice chew to it, not too dense or too crispy. The Bo-Berries inside were warm and burst with a sweet, slightly tart flavor that really stood out. It’s definitely a sweet treat, so if you're not into sugary breakfasts, this might be a lot for you. However, I found the sweetness to be balanced by the waffle base. It reminded me a lot of their Bo-Berry biscuits, but in a different, waffle-y format, which was a nice change of pace. I actually tried it two ways: first, plain with just the waffle itself, and then with a drizzle of syrup that came with it. Honestly, I preferred it with just a light touch of syrup, or even plain. The Bo-Berries provide enough sweetness and moisture on their own. For those who love a full-on sweet breakfast, go for the syrup! I also tried dipping a piece into some of their Bo's Special Sauce (yes, I'm adventurous!), and while unconventional, the savory-sweet combo was surprisingly good. Don't knock it till you try it! This Bo-Berry Waffle feels like a perfect grab-and-go option for a quick, satisfying breakfast or even a sweet snack. It’s something different from your usual egg and cheese biscuit. If you're a fan of fruit-filled pastries, blueberry pancakes, or of course, Bojangles' own Bo-Berry biscuits, then you absolutely need to give this a try. It’s a fun, flavorful twist on a breakfast classic that brings that beloved Bojangles taste we all enjoy. Overall, I'd say the Bojangles Bo-Berry Waffle is a definite win in my book. It’s a comforting, sweet treat that delivers on flavor and novelty. It might not be an everyday thing for me, but it’s certainly a delightful indulgence when I’m craving something sweet and familiar. Go snag one and let me know what you think!

I tried it, I gave it a 7/10. It was good, but it was too sweet for me and I was tasting more of the waffle and the Bo berry glaze and less of the chicken in the middle. For me, it’s all about balance. Other than that, it was good.
