The Most Overhyped Crumbl Cookies?
I remember when Crumbl Cookies first blew up on my feed – everyone was raving about them! The weekly flavors, the pink box, the warm cookies... it all seemed so magical. Like many of you, I jumped on the bandwagon, eager to try these internet sensations. But after countless trips and tasting a wide array of their ever-changing menu, I’ve found myself wondering the same thing many of you search for: are Crumbl Cookies actually overrated? Honestly, it’s a question I grapple with every time a new lineup drops. My personal take? It’s complicated, but for many flavors, yes, I do think they can be. Let me explain why, based on my own experiences. First off, the price point. A single Crumbl cookie can set you back quite a bit, and when you compare it to a regular bakery cookie, the expectation bar is set incredibly high. For that price, I expect perfection, or at least something consistently mind-blowing. And often, I just don't get that. I've had cookies that were dry, others that were overwhelmingly sweet to the point of being cloying, and some that just didn't taste much like their description. It feels like sometimes the novelty and presentation overshadow the actual taste and texture. Then there’s the sweetness factor. As a big dessert lover, I appreciate a good sweet treat, but Crumbl often takes it to another level. Many of their cookies, especially the frosted ones, are incredibly rich and sugary. I’ve often found myself only able to eat a quarter of a cookie before feeling completely overwhelmed. What looks like a delightful, decadent treat can quickly become a sugar overload, which, for me, diminishes the enjoyment. It makes me question if the elaborate toppings and frosting are there to distract from a less complex base cookie. Another reason I sometimes feel they're overrated is the inconsistency. I’ve tried the same flavor multiple times, hoping for a better experience, only to find vastly different results. One week a cookie might be perfectly baked and gooey, the next it’s dry and crumbly (ironically!). This unpredictability makes it hard to justify the hype or the price, especially when you’re anticipating a consistently excellent product. However, it’s not all doom and gloom! Despite my criticisms, there are definitely some Crumbl cookies that hit the mark and truly stand out. For me, the simpler flavors often shine – those that focus on a well-balanced dough and quality ingredients rather than just extravagant toppings. I've learned to appreciate the experience more when I manage my expectations. I now go in knowing that some flavors will disappoint, but I hold out hope for those rare gems. So, are Crumbl Cookies overrated? In my honest opinion, many of them are, especially when you consider the price and the sometimes overwhelming sweetness. But that doesn't mean they're not enjoyable at all. It just means you have to be selective, maybe share them to cut down on the richness, and understand that the hype doesn't always translate directly to a perfect cookie experience every single time. It's a fun weekly ritual, but I've certainly learned to temper my expectations to avoid disappointment!
