DIY nails

From my own experience of doing DIY nails, I’ve found that air bubbles often come from either using too much glue or not prepping the nail surface correctly. Before application, make sure your natural nails are clean, dry, and free of oils—this can be done by wiping them down with a nail dehydrator or even rubbing alcohol. When applying glue, less is definitely more. I started using a small drop of quality nail glue directly on the fake nail rather than on my natural nail bed. This helps control how much glue is used and reduces excess that can trap air. After positioning the fake nail, press firmly from the cuticle to the tip to squeeze out any trapped air bubbles and hold it for about 15-30 seconds. Another tip I learned is to work in a dust-free environment. Tiny dust particles can cause imperfections and bubbles. Also, using a push stick or cuticle pusher, gently lift the edges of the fake nail during application to smooth out any areas prone to bubbles. If you find bubbles still forming, try slightly warming your glue bottle or room temperature. Cold glue can become thicker and harder to spread, increasing bubble formation. Finally, patience is key—don’t rush the process and give each nail some time to set properly. Overall, with some practice and these small adjustments, my DIY nails became noticeably smoother and bubble-free, making the whole at-home manicure much more satisfying and professional-looking.
