I just went on my first cruise and we went to the Bahamas and Yucatán. Our first stop was at CocoCay and it was great. CocoCay is a private area designated for Royal Caribbean travelers. We bought a kayaking excursion that we did right away, I believe it was around 50$ for each person for 1.5 hours of kayaking. Other excursion options were going to the pig beach, snorkeling, scuba diving, private cabana, and entry into the water park. After kayaking, we ate lunch at the main buffet style area. There was a taco station, sandwiches and salads, burgers and hot dogs, fruit and a dessert station. The food was honestly pretty decent and was included in your standard package. There were plenty of food stands around the island which featured a smaller menu as well. After lunch, we swam in the water and laid out for a bit. There were a bunch of chairs scattered everywhere with umbrellas so that was super nice. You could rent a floating mat for the day to lay out in the water. They also had an activities area, so my boyfriend played volleyball and basketball for awhile. Another great perk were the trams. The island was larger than expected, but luckily the trams were consistently running. I really enjoyed our first stop and highly recommend!
