5 Ways We Strengthened Our Relationnship
We are not perfect, but throughout our 3 year journey we have found that these 5 little things have brought us closer together. Although little it is a huge thing that makes us better.
1: Open & Honest Communication
This isn’t as easy as it seems and has taken some time and hard work to figure out how to be completely open with each other. I’ve personally witnessed egos being a big problem within relationships. We have learned that it is us working to fix the problem not us against each other.
2: Emotional Support
Validating each other’s feelings without minimizing them is a little thing that means a lot. It allows us to feel safe with each other, while also encouraging each other to share our thoughts whether good or bad
3: Conflict Resolution
Disagreements are inevitable, giving each other space especially in the heat of the moment allows us to gather our thoughts and compose ourselves to eventually come back to either resolve the conflict or respectfully agree to disagree and that’s okay too.
4: Affection & Intimacy
Showing each other love and appreciation is a little thing that makes a huge difference to us whether that is showing up, making a meal, flowers, being present in the moment, or just showing some support means a lot to us.
5: Mutual Effort
At takes both of us to put work and energy into our relationship, we do regular check ins while implementing opened & honest communication, emotional support, conflict resolution, & affection and intimacy. We are a team, it takes a team effort to love
Building a strong relationship requires continuous effort and understanding. Open and honest communication serves as the foundation where both partners feel safe to express their emotions without judgment. It’s important to listen actively and validate thoughts and feelings, creating a nurturing environment. Emotional support plays a critical role in fostering intimacy and trust. By being there for each other during both joyful and challenging times, couples can deepen their connection and encourage growth. Implementing effective conflict resolution strategies is equally significant; giving space during disagreements can prevent escalation, allowing time for reflection before discussing issues openly. Affection and intimacy strengthen bonds, whether through small gestures, quality time, or physical touch. Consistently reaffirming love and appreciation can lead to a more fulfilling relationship experience. Lastly, mutual effort ensures both partners are actively engaged in maintaining the partnership, relying on regular check-ins and shared goals to align their paths, especially during tough times.
