Siapa di sini tim ibu-ibu yang paling betah menghabiskan waktu di dapur? #IndonesianMom #HidupDiAmerika #tinggaldiluarnegri #tinggaldiamerika #MomLife
Being a mom who enjoys spending time in the kitchen is a unique experience, especially when living abroad. From my personal journey, I found that the kitchen becomes more than just a place to prepare meals—it transforms into a comforting space that connects me to my roots and family traditions. Managing household tasks such as answering 125 emails, returning 38 missed calls, or responding to 72 SMS messages while juggling kitchen duties can be overwhelming. The balance is delicate, but creating structured time slots helps me enjoy cooking without feeling rushed. Having small reminders like 'WA150' (WhatsApp messages) and organizing moment-to-moment interruptions prevents stress. When I prepare meals, especially with precise ingredients like 175g portions, it feels therapeutic and allows me to practice mindfulness amidst a busy mom life. Sharing traditional Indonesian recipes in an American setting also gives me a sense of pride and encourages my children to appreciate our culture. For other moms who live outside their home countries, embracing the kitchen as a personal sanctuary can help maintain emotional wellbeing. It also offers an opportunity to adapt and innovate recipes, blending flavors from different cultures to enrich family meals. This balance of tradition and new experiences truly enhances the joy of motherhood beyond borders.
