Siapa di sini yang dapurnya juga nggak pernah libur? #JawaAmerika #IndonesianMom #MomOf4u #tinggaldiamerika
As someone who spends a good portion of my day in the kitchen, I completely understand why the kitchen feels like it never gets a break. The simple truth is, we live to eat — and that means cooking and preparing food is a daily, even hourly, necessity. From breakfast, lunch, snacks, to dinner, every meal is a reason to get back to the stove or countertop. In my experience living as an Indonesian mom abroad, I find the kitchen is more than just a place to make food—it's where family time happens. Even with a busy schedule, the act of cooking is therapeutic and connects me with my culture and loved ones. I often joke that the kitchen's real boss is hunger — so it never truly gets a day off! Planning meals ahead can help ease the constant hustle in the kitchen. Batch cooking or preparing ingredients in advance gives small pockets of relief. Still, that innate rhythm of preparation and eating keeps the kitchen alive and buzzing. For many parents, especially moms, the kitchen embodies care and nurturing. The routine of feeding everyone is a labor of love and an expression of identity. So, if you find your kitchen never rests, you’re not alone—it's a sign of a lively, well-fed home full of memories being made.
