I vibed a fooling news website on April Fool's D

Just a few days ago, a smirking dog popped into my head: April Fools’ Day is coming, why not pull some pranks? RERORERORERORERO…

And so this website was born: FOOLING.

All content is generated by AI, and from now on, every few hours, it will fabricate all sorts of bizarre things based on real-world news. What exactly it’ll come up with, I have no idea. The code was written by AI—I only handled product planning, design, vibecoding, deployment, and testing. I managed not to peek at the AI prompts, though I glimpsed a few generated articles during testing. Well, not bad. Good enough.

I also designed a “world state” system. In this fake news site, events that have already happened are abstracted into memory, and future prank news will likely evolve from this existing world state. As the world tree grows, over time, these news snippets will form a virtual universe full of absurdity and errors.

Of course, I didn’t check the specific logic of the world state either. Since it’s April Fools’, let it be truly foolish~

Fooling has its own distinct aesthetic vision for content. Everything on the site is fake, and we ensure that no real human editors publish the content. But I thought, maybe someone will like it. Like the small line I put at the top of the page: "AI Is Fooling You. And You Love It."

Oh, sorry—that was written by AI too 🙈

... Read moreLiving through the digital age, I find projects like FOOLING particularly fascinating because they blend technology and creativity in a highly unique way. What strikes me most about FOOLING is its innovative use of AI to not only generate fake news but also to construct a persistent world state where past fake events influence future stories. This approach adds a layer of immersive storytelling that keeps the satire dynamic and evolving, rather than static or disconnected. In my own experience playing with AI-generated content, maintaining a consistent narrative or theme over time can be challenging. But the deliberate design behind FOOLING’s world tree system allows for a continual buildup of comedic absurdity, making each article feel part of a larger, playful universe. It’s also reassuring that the creator ensures no real human edits the content afterward, preserving the authenticity of AI creativity and surprise. Moreover, the concept of AI scanning real headlines and then transforming them through various satirical lenses—such as deadpan humor, exaggeration, or conspiracy theories—adds multiple layers to the entertainment. This method reflects how traditional satire often works but turbocharges it with rapid AI processing and creative reinterpretation. On a personal note, experimenting with AI for humor reminds me that even machines can develop a quirky sense of creativity that humans appreciate. FOOLING’s tagline, "AI Is Fooling You. And You Love It," perfectly captures this relationship between technology and human amusement. It also raises interesting questions about media literacy in an age where AI can blur the lines between real and fake news for fun. Overall, FOOLING offers an insightful glimpse into how AI can revolutionize content creation, not just by automating data or simple tasks, but by adding complex, imaginative layers that engage audiences in new ways. For anyone curious about AI, satire, or digital culture, this project is a brilliant example of playful innovation on April Fools' Day and beyond.
