I recently had an absolute blast creating my very own Ghostface painting, inspired by the iconic Scream movies. Starting this project, I always begin with a simple pencil outline directly onto my white canvas. For Ghostface, it’s all about getting that classic mask shape right. Once I had my Ghostface outline down, I moved onto painting the solid black outlines. I find using a fine brush really helps with precision here. Adding a black rotary phone receiver next to the mask, with some dripping red paint suggesting blood, instantly amps up the horror. To achieve that blood effect, I used a slightly diluted red paint and let it naturally drip down – it looks so authentic! And of course, no Ghostface piece would be complete without that chilling 'HELLO Drew...' message. It’s those little touches that transform a simple drawing into a genuine piece of horror artwork. If you’re new to painting or feel a bit intimidated, remember that horror art, especially scream drawings, doesn't have to be perfect to be impactful. Sometimes, a slightly distressed or raw look even adds to the scare factor! Don't be afraid to experiment with different shades of black and grey for depth, and even try splattering a bit of red for extra drama. It's all about expressing that creepy energy.
