Crab cakes are a popular seafood dish, traditionally made with fresh crab meat, but our easy recipe uses imitation crab, making it accessible and affordable. Imitation crab is often made from fish and flavored to taste like real crab, offering an excellent alternative for those who want to enjoy crab cakes without the expense. In addition to imitation crab, the recipe includes simple pantry staples like bread crumbs, egg, and mayonnaise to bind the ingredients together. Adding seasonings like Old Bay, garlic powder, onion powder, and a splash of hot sauce enhances the flavor profile, making these crab cakes deliciously seasoned. To make these crab cakes, combine all ingredients in a food processor or mix by hand until well incorporated. Then, pan fry until golden brown for a deliciously crispy exterior. Serve them with a side salad, or top with your favorite dipping sauce for an easy dinner option that will satisfy the whole family. Crab cakes are versatile enough for a casual family meal or a fancy dinner party, providing endless options to impress your guests!
