1 sauce 2 dinners

When Albertson's has thier meat on sale I usually stock up and I needed a cut that would work with the Cholua brand Birria sauce I picked up from Walmart a few days ago. Cooked in my handy pot for a bout 2 hours the sauce and the meat will break down into a shredded form. That will be your topping for the French fries and your filling for the burrito. We had the loaded fries for dinner and it was a delicious alternative to chili cheese fries. The Birria breakfast burritos were filled with French fries, eggs, and the Birria meat. Both very tasty meals all originating from 2 ingredients

I’ve found that slow cooking the beef in the Birria sauce for about two hours until it shreds easily is key to unlocking a rich, flavorful meat base. This shredded Birria meat becomes a delicious topping that can elevate simple dishes like French fries into loaded Birria fries — a tasty twist on classic chili cheese fries. The combination of tender, spicy meat with crispy fries offers a satisfying texture and flavor contrast. What I also love is using the same Birria meat to make breakfast burritos. Filling tortillas with the shredded Birria, fries, and scrambled eggs creates a hearty, satisfying meal that’s great for starting your day or even having as a quick dinner. It’s amazing how two straightforward ingredients can be transformed into two completely different meals, saving time and money. Buying meat during sales at stores like Albertsons and pairing it with accessible products such as Cholula’s Birria sauce from Walmart allows me to stretch my grocery budget while still enjoying flavorful, homemade meals. This approach is perfect for anyone looking to experiment with Mexican-style recipes without spending too much or sacrificing taste. Personally, I recommend using a heavy pot or slow cooker for the cooking process to ensure the meat becomes tender enough to shred and absorb all the sauce’s spices. Also, customizing the loaded fries with additional toppings like shredded cheese, diced onions, or cilantro can enhance the dish further. If you’re new to Birria recipes, start with this simple two-meal plan to see how versatile and delicious this traditional Mexican stew can be. It’s perfect for busy weeknights or weekend meal prepping and can be adjusted with ingredients you already have on hand.
