Go Reign❤️📣 #fypシ #dayshataylor #quikv
Being a cheer mom, or in my case, a proud stepmom, to someone as spirited as Reign during cheer season has been such an incredible journey! When 'Daysha Taylor stepdaughter Reign' first expressed interest in cheering, I honestly didn't know what to expect. But seeing her dedication and the sheer joy she gets from it has been so inspiring. It's truly a unique experience to witness her grow both as an athlete and a young woman. The cheer season is definitely a whirlwind! From early morning practices to late-night competitions, it's a huge commitment, not just for the cheerleaders but for the whole family. I remember those first few weeks of 'cheering' drills, watching Reign learn new stunts and routines. There were moments of frustration, of course, when a stunt wouldn't hit perfectly or a jump felt off, but her resilience always shone through. We've spent countless hours in the car, on the sidelines, and at home practicing cheers. It's not just about mastering the routines; it's about teamwork, discipline, building confidence, and learning how to perform under pressure. One of the biggest joys has been seeing her bond with her teammates. They've become a little family, supporting each other through wins and losses, sharing laughter and even a few tears. As a stepmom, finding common ground and building strong connections can sometimes take time, especially with the busy schedules of modern families. But cheerleading has really been a wonderful bridge for Reign and me. We share inside jokes about routines, practice cheers together in the living room, and I'm always there to fluff her bow or give her a pep talk before a performance. These little moments, big and small, mean the world and have significantly strengthened our relationship. For anyone else out there with a stepdaughter or daughter getting into cheer, here are a few things I've learned that might make your cheer season smoother and more rewarding: Be their biggest fan, always: Show up to practices when you can, be loud and positive at competitions, and celebrate every small victory, whether it's mastering a new jump, hitting a perfect stunt, or just having a great practice. Your encouragement means more than you know. Help with logistics: Cheer requires a lot of gear – from uniforms and shoes to bows and make-up. There's also travel to various competitions and a demanding practice schedule. Being organized with packing bags, managing schedules, and having healthy snacks ready can save a lot of stress for everyone. Encourage resilience and a positive mindset: There will be tough days, moments of doubt, or even minor injuries. Remind them that it's okay to make mistakes, that recovery is part of the process, and that perseverance is key to achieving their goals. Focus on effort and improvement, not just perfection. Prioritize fun and well-being: While cheerleading is competitive and demanding, the core should always be about enjoying the sport, the camaraderie, and staying healthy. Ensure they get enough rest, eat well, and have time for other interests too, to prevent burnout. Watching Reign on the mat, full of energy and passion, truly fills my heart. Every time she's 'cheering,' I'm reminded of how much she's grown and how much this sport means to her. This cheer season has been more than just practices and competitions; it's been about watching my stepdaughter flourish, find her passion, and finding another beautiful way to connect with her. Go Reign, indeed! We're so incredibly proud of everything you're achieving and can't wait to see what next season brings!
