It gives her a 'bird's eye view' of the outside world, providing endless entertainment. Sometimes, I even put on 'cat TV' – videos of birds or fish – on a secondary monitor for her to watch while I play. It sounds silly, but it works wonders! Creating a cat-friendly (and game-proof) environment is another must. Cats are curious, and cables are irresistible toys. I've made sure all my wires are neatly bundled and secured, or even hidden in cable management sleeves. This not only protects my equipment but also keeps her safe from chewing hazards. Placing small, soft blankets near my setup, perhaps on a spare chair or a designated 'cat bed' on my desk, has also helped. She's less likely to demand my lap if she has her own cozy spot nearby. I even let her sit on a separate chair next to my gaming chair sometimes – it makes her feel included! And of course, we can't forget the basics. Ensuring her food and water bowls are always full and fresh, and her litter box is impeccably clean, goes a long way. A cat with unmet basic needs is more likely to act out for attention. I've set up automatic feeders for her meals, which helps maintain consistency even if my gaming schedule gets a bit unpredictable. My experience has shown me that understanding why your cat seeks attention during your gaming time is key. Often, it's boredom, a need for affection, or just plain curiosity. Instead of getting frustrated, I try to pre-empt these needs. A quick cuddle during a loading screen, a gentle pet when she brushes against my leg, or even just talking to her can reassure her that she's not forgotten. Finally, remember that a healthy cat is a happy cat. Regular vet check-ups are non-negotiable. Even with all the fun 'gaming' in her gaming chair, her well-being comes first. By implementing these tips, I've found a wonderful balance where I can enjoy my gaming hobby and my cat can enjoy a stimulating, loving environment. It really makes our bond stronger! It's all about making sure our furry co-pilots feel just as amazing as we do when we conquer a new level.
