Teal Wig Install 😍
Hey everyone! I'm so excited to share my latest wig adventure: installing a gorgeous teal lace front! This color has been on my wishlist for ages, and I finally decided to go for it. If you're wondering how to get that perfect, natural-looking teal wig install, you've come to the right place. I'm going to walk you through my process, sharing all the little tricks I've picked up along the way. First things first, prep is key! Before even thinking about putting on the wig, I make sure my natural hair is laid flat. For me, that usually means braiding it down into small cornrows, making sure there are no bumps. Then, I put on a nude wig cap that matches my skin tone. This step is crucial for creating a natural scalp illusion. I often use a little bit of makeup (my regular foundation or concealer) on top of the wig cap, right where the lace will sit, to further blend it in. Next up is customizing the lace. This is where you can really make your wig look like it's growing from your scalp. I always start by trimming the excess lace, leaving about half an inch around the hairline. Be super careful with this – you don't want to cut too much! For tinting the lace, I use a lace tint spray or even a bit of my foundation on the underside of the lace, focusing on the frontal area. This helps the lace disappear against my skin. And don't forget the baby hairs! If your wig comes with them, you can pluck a few more strands to customize your hairline, but remember, less is often more. Now for the actual install! There are a few different methods for securing your wig, but I usually go for a strong hold lace glue or a really good wig adhesive spray. I clean my hairline with rubbing alcohol to remove any oils, then apply a thin layer of adhesive along my hairline, letting it get tacky. I usually do 2-3 thin layers for extra security. Once it's tacky, I carefully lay the lace down, pressing it firmly into the adhesive. I use the tail of a comb or my fingers to gently press the lace into place, making sure it's smooth and flat. If you're using a spray, you can spray directly onto your hairline or onto the lace and press down. To really melt that lace, I tie it down with an elastic band or a wig scarf for about 15-20 minutes. This helps the lace really adhere and blend seamlessly. While it's tying down, I sometimes use a blow dryer on a cool setting over the scarf to help speed up the melting process. Once I take the band off, I’ll usually go in with a little bit of styling mousse or gel on my baby hairs, shaping them with a small brush or my finger. The goal is to make them look soft and natural, not plastered down. Finally, it's time to style! For this teal wig, I loved doing some soft waves. I used a curling wand and then brushed them out for a more voluminous look. A little bit of hairspray to set everything, and voilà – my vibrant teal wig install is complete! It feels so secure and looks so natural. I’m absolutely loving this bold color change. Remember, practice makes perfect, so don't get discouraged if your first attempt isn't flawless. With a little patience, you'll be rocking your teal wig like a pro in no time!
