Now, the real magic happens: getting it onto your iPhone lock screen so everyone can see your personalized touch. I remember when I first tried to do this; it felt a little tricky, but once you know the steps, it’s actually super easy and quick! Here's my personal step-by-step guide on how to actually set up and add your newly created Widgetsmith widget to your iOS lock screen. Trust me, it’s a game-changer for customizing your phone's look and feel! How to Add Your Widgetsmith Widget to Your iPhone Lock Screen: Unlock Your Phone, But Don't Open Apps: Make sure your iPhone is unlocked, but you're still on the lock screen itself. You don't want to go to your home screen just yet. Enter Customization Mode: Long-press anywhere on your lock screen. You'll feel a little haptic feedback, and the screen should shrink slightly, showing a “Customize” button at the bottom. This is where the fun begins! Tap 'Customize': Hit that “Customize” button, and then select “Lock Screen.” This will bring you to the editing interface where you can change wallpapers, fonts, and, of course, add widgets. Access the Widget Area: Look for the rectangular area just below the time. This is your widget zone! Tap on it to open the widget gallery. If you already have widgets there, you might need to tap the “+” button to add more. Find Widgetsmith: Scroll through the list of apps in the widget gallery until you find “Widgetsmith.” Tap on it. You’ll see different sizes and types of widgets it offers (small, medium, large, circular, rectangular, etc.). Select Your Widget Type: Since we just made a circular photo widget in Widgetsmith, you'll want to select the corresponding circular size. Tap on the circular widget option to add it to your lock screen. Choose Your Specific Widget: Once the circular Widgetsmith placeholder appears on your lock screen, tap on it again. This is a crucial step! A pop-up menu will appear, allowing you to select which specific Widgetsmith widget you want to display. For example, if you named yours “Circular #9” or dedicated it to a specific photo, select that one from the list. Confirm and Save: Once you’ve selected your custom widget, tap the “Done” button in the top right corner, and then tap “Set as Wallpaper Pair” (or “Customize Home Screen” if you want to adjust that too). Voila! Your beautiful, personalized Widgetsmith photo widget is now proudly displayed on your iPhone lock screen. Quick Tip for Editing or Changing Your Widget: If you ever want to change the photo in your circular widget or swap it out for a different Widgetsmith creation, you don't have to delete and re-add it entirely. Just go back into the lock screen customization mode (long-press, Customize, Lock Screen), tap on the Widgetsmith widget, and you can easily select a different widget from your Widgetsmith collection or even re-enter the Widgetsmith app to make edits to the existing widget settings (like changing the “Photo” option or selecting a new image from “Choose from Photos”). It’s super flexible and lets you keep your lock screen fresh with minimal effort!
