... Read moreAcrylic nails have been a favorite for many, known for their versatility and the ability to achieve stunning designs. However, prolonged use can lead to significant damage to natural nails, including thinning and sensitivity. Many users face the dilemma of choosing between the aesthetic appeal of acrylics and the health of their natural nails. Alternative solutions that provide beauty without sacrificing nail integrity are available. For instance, gel nails, which are typically less damaging and can be easily removed, offer a great compromise. Another popular option is dipping powder nails, which provide durability while avoiding the harsh chemicals often associated with acrylics. Furthermore, proper nail care routines with nail strengthening polishes and regular manicures can help maintain the health of natural nails while exploring various designs. Additionally, nail wraps and press-on nails have regained popularity, as they come in numerous styles and can be applied easily at home. To transition away from acrylics, consider consulting with a nail technician for personalized recommendations that suit your lifestyle and nail health. Engaging in discussions on platforms like Lemon8 can also provide insights and tips from fellow enthusiasts who have made similar transitions. Protecting and nurturing your natural nails doesn’t mean you have to compromise on style; there’s a world of beautiful nail art waiting to be explored without acrylics.

Hey girl! Nail tech here! I know everyone is saying dip powder but it is just acrylic applied in a different way. It’s also more unhygienic if applied incorrectly. The best way to strengthen and grow your natural nail is builder gel! Find a technician who specializes in builder gel ☺️☺️

I’m a nail tech. Anything covering your nails like acrylic, gel, etc will damage your natural nails.
