lets get real !
this is a safe and nonjudgmental space right!??? 👀
okay.. no one talks about how hard self care is once you have a baby. that shower that you once used to take every single day and maybe even twice a day has turned into once every 2 days. youre wearing the same t shirt with spit up on it for 2 whole days! this is me talking about myself 😅… and sometimes forgetting to eat and staying hydrated is also a thing???
before having my sweet baby i had no idea the newborn “trenches” was a thing! to all the moms who have a newborn currently or who has been through it whether it is once or multiple times… how yall doing?? 😅😅.. yall alright?? i know its not an easy road but its a very very beautiful one! im so proud of all of you for doing the damn thang! 🥰
one thing that im learning is how to take of myself again but with a baby in the picture.
im learning
- when that baby sleep YOU sleep
- take time out of the day to do at least one thing that you enjoy doing (mine is reading while relaxing in the tub while dad has baby)
-find time to do your makeup or skincare routine and wear something cute to make yourself feel better! AND take pictures.. a selfie a day keeps PPD away 😙
- SET BOUNDARIES.. stop being a people pleaser
MOST IMPORTANTLY GIVE YOURSELF GRACE!! you just had a baby. its okay if nothing goes as planned sometimes
love you
take care of yourself 🫶🏽
Becoming a new mom brings joys and challenges that can make self-care seem nearly impossible. It’s important to remember that prioritizing your well-being is vital for both you and your baby. One effective strategy is to schedule 'me time' whenever your baby is sleeping. Simple activities, such as soaking in a calming bath or indulging in a favorite book, can recharge your spirit and promote emotional health. Creating a skincare routine can also provide a refreshing boost and help you feel more like yourself. Experiment with quick and effective beauty hacks that fit into your new schedule. Furthermore, creating small rituals—like enjoying a cup of tea or lighting a candle—can serve as gentle reminders to pause and reflect on your progress. Setting boundaries is crucial; say no to unsolicited advice or help that feels overwhelming. Establish your comfort levels and ensure that your needs are respected by yourself and others. Gaining this control can mitigate feelings of stress and help create a more harmonious home environment. Lastly, don’t forget to celebrate your small victories. Share your experiences with other new moms in online forums or local groups; this connection can provide support and validation, making your journey a little less lonely. You aren’t just a caregiver; you’re navigating a new chapter in life that deserves acknowledgment and grace. Embrace the journey and remember—you’re doing amazing!
