June Wrap Up ✨

June was a slower reading month for me, but quality definitely made up for quantity 📚

Project Hail Mary ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

-Hands down one of my favorite books of the year! I listened to the audiobook and wow, I completely understand the hype now. I even watched the movie afterward and I think its a fantastic adaptation ❤️

Frankenstein ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

-Finally crossed this classic off my list! I loved the story and can absolutely see why its endured for so long.

Ghost Station ⭐️⭐️

- This one just wasn't for me. I almost DNF'd it twice, but pushed through it hoping it would click.

Only 3 books this month, which is less than I usually read but I'm pretty happy with how June turned out. especially because Project Hail Mary was such an incredible surprise.

... Read moreJune was a bit slower for me in terms of how many books I read, but the quality more than made up for it. Listening to the audiobook of Project Hail Mary was an eye-opening experience — it really showcased how audiobooks can bring science fiction to life in a unique way. The story's blend of suspense, science, and human emotion was gripping, and watching the movie afterward added a new dimension to my appreciation of the narrative. Crossing Frankenstein off my reading list was a satisfying milestone. This classic never loses relevance, and its themes about creation and morality continue to resonate. Reading it after so many years gave me a fresh perspective on how ahead of its time Shelley’s writing was and why it’s still celebrated. I struggled more with Ghost Station, which didn't click for me despite my efforts. It’s a reminder that not every book suits our taste, and that's okay. Pushing through helped me clarify my preferences and reminded me it's perfectly fine to DNF (Did Not Finish) a book when it doesn't engage me. Looking at my reading challenge progress, I realized that selecting just a few well-chosen books can be more fulfilling than rushing through multiple titles. It’s about savoring each story, understanding its themes deeply, and reflecting on its impact. This approach is especially important for busy months or when trying to balance reading with other commitments. For readers aiming to level up their TBR (To Be Read) pile, I recommend mixing genres and formats. Audiobooks like Project Hail Mary can be perfect for commutes or multitasking, while classics such as Frankenstein can offer timeless insights worth dedicating focused reading time to. Overall, June reaffirmed that quality trumps quantity in reading. Enjoying each book thoroughly, rather than racing through, enriches the whole experience and keeps the joy of reading alive.
