Boho Bag #2

So nice I made it twice!! I’ve had so many rave reviews of my boho bag that I was commissioned by a friend to create one for her. This time I used Loops and Threads 75% cotton yarn which seemed to have more body and oomph to it. This project took me about 5 hours. The granny square works up fast. The lining is a challenge for me as sewing is not my strong suit. Nevertheless I do love up cycling beautiful scarves to line a bag! I think my friend will love the outcome, she selected the color palate and provided the scarf for the lining. What do you think?#crochetbags #crochetedbags #crochetinspiration

The decision to use Loops and Threads 75% cotton yarn adds a nice balance of softness and durability, giving the bag more structure compared to standard yarns. From my experience, cotton blends are great for bags because they maintain shape without being too stiff. One of the highlights of this project is the granny square pattern, which is famous among crocheters for its ease and speed. It's perfect for beginners and experienced crafters alike because it allows you to complete visible sections quickly, keeping motivation high. When you're making a bag, speed can be a big factor if you're eager to see the final product come together. A challenge that many face, myself included, is sewing the lining. If sewing isn’t your forte, consider using fabric glue or a simple hand-stitch method to secure the lining inside the crochet shell. Upcycling scarves to create a unique lining is a brilliant way to add individuality to your bag, plus it gives old fabrics a second life, aligning with eco-conscious trends. For those interested in customizing color palettes, inviting a friend to choose their favorite hues can lend a thoughtful, personal touch to your handcrafted bags. It not only makes the bag unique but also a meaningful gift. Overall, blending crochet techniques with sustainable materials makes for a rewarding creative project that you’ll cherish or love gifting. If you’re thinking about trying your hand at this project, remember that practice with smaller sewing tasks can improve your confidence and skill for future crafts. This boho bag is a fantastic blend of creativity, patience, and style—perfect for anyone looking to explore the craft of crochet and bag-making.
