Signs of Spring - Crochet Style

The wait is over! As promised, here’s my post of my Mom’s door wreath in her retirement community. The base is a foam ring covered with crochet. The flowers, vines and ribbons are all attached using push pins. The wreath is updatable depending upon the season or holiday. I like these because putting the items on the wreath is a fun activity we can do together. Also my Mom is proud of her wreath and gets a lot of positive feedback from her neighbors. The wreath game is STRONG in her retirement community so we must keep pace. What are your thoughts?

Using a foam ring as a base offers an easy and durable foundation for attaching various decorative elements such as crocheted flowers, leafy vines, and festive ribbons. One great tip is to use push pins or removable fasteners so you can easily swap out items depending on the time of year or upcoming holidays, keeping the wreath fresh and relevant throughout the year. Working on wreaths can be an enjoyable bonding activity, especially when done with family members or friends. This collaborative approach not only enhances creativity but also strengthens relationships, making the craft more meaningful. Many retirement communities encourage this type of group crafting because it promotes social interaction and a sense of pride among residents, as seen through positive feedback from neighbors. For those new to crochet or wreath making, starting with simple floral patterns and gradually adding more complex designs can be rewarding.
