HONEST REVIEW: MinSuiZen Raku Omakase Teppanyaki

MinSuiZen Raku Omakase Teppanyaki 明水然・楽

Joyous Meal: (12 Dishes) $88+

Main meal: Chicken

Premium Course (12 Dishes): $138++

Main meal: A5 Japanese Wagyu or Boneless Chicken Wing

We went on Sunday and there was hardly anyone there! I would recommend to book a slot if you want to try thou! I got the joyous course and premium courses…

⭐️ The seafood was quite fresh and high quality( in terms of the scallop and prawn ) The sauce used complements the dishes well

⭐️ If you are a fan of chocolate, the cake was really good. It was like a mix of hazelnut and chocolate.

⭐️ I felt like the burger was definitely one of my favourites. The patty was juicy and everything complemented so well with each other. The cheese was also cooked nicely and so crispy!

⭐️ If you are more of a beef fan, i would say to get the premium course as the A5 Wagyu beef was so tender… I definitely prefered it over the chicken.

⭐️ I feel that omakase teppanyaki is good if you are not a big fan of raw fish( be it salmon or tuna), and you get a good show as well from the chef

⭐️ The chef would explain what each dish is( from the sauce to the meat used ) Very detailed and he makes it very entertaining with all his tricks. You could also see how your food is cooked which I felt was quite entertaining as well

👎 I would say the fried rice was there to make sure you are full from the meal… ( I would say the portions are quite small so…) But you can add more fried rice if you ask the chef 😗

👎 I think i expected a bit more from the dishes (perphaps something more fancy? ) … in terms of what I would be getting! I feel it’s good to definitely research more on what each place offers so you know what to expect, since i went into this blind 😵‍💫

Conclusion :

I’ll give this place a 4/5! But i would definitely recco the premium course rather than the joyous course ( If it’s within ur budget ☺️) I think there was definitely some food that I forgot to take pictures of… but i would generally say the food was quite nice ( + the sauces used complement the food nicely + high quality ingredients were used )

... Read moreHaving experienced MinSuiZen Raku Omakase Teppanyaki myself, I found the blend of entertainment and quality ingredients truly memorable. The essence of omakase is trust in the chef’s selection, and here that includes a captivating cooking performance right before your eyes, making it more than just a meal but a full sensory experience. One highlight I appreciated was the seafood—particularly the scallops and prawns. They tasted exceptionally fresh, which is crucial for any teppanyaki meal, and the sauces enhanced their natural flavors without overpowering them. If you enjoy a balance between delicate and rich tastes, this place delivers well. For beef lovers, the premium course’s A5 Japanese Wagyu stood out as a luxurious treat. The marbling made the beef incredibly tender and flavorful, melting in the mouth effortlessly. Comparing this to the chicken dishes, I found the Wagyu far more impressive, supporting the original review’s recommendation to opt for the premium selections when possible. Another dish that caught my affection was the teppanyaki burger. Juicy with a crispy layer of cheese, it offered a comforting yet sophisticated take on a classic favorite. The fusion of textures and tastes demonstrated the chef’s creativity. One thing to keep in mind is portion sizing. While all dishes are beautifully plated and enticing, the servings tend to be on the smaller side. The fried rice acts as a filler but may not satisfy a very hungry diner unless you request extra. Visitors new to omakase teppanyaki should prepare by researching the menu so expectations align with the dining experience. This approach ensures you appreciate each course and the meticulous preparation behind it. The chef’s engaging explanations enriched my meal, providing context to every sauce, cut of meat, and cooking technique. Overall, MinSuiZen Raku offers a delightful and interactive dining option in Singapore for those seeking quality teppanyaki with a personalized touch. Booking ahead is wise due to limited crowds and to secure your preferred time slot, especially on weekends. My own visit left me eager to return, especially to explore more premium course options and witness the chef's culinary artistry again.
